6 Wellness Tips – Finding Joy in a Pandemic World

relaxing tranquil scene with balanced rocks

How to find wellness in a world gone off kilter.  How do you stay connected to yourself,  your source and stay well?  While we may feel stranded or lonely during these times, we can find our way back to optimism.  Finding and holding onto the calm within is key to maintaining wellness.  The ability to remain peaceful is a saving grace.  It helps our brain, our immune system, our heart and the ability to enjoy a restful sleep. Following are a few strategies for helping you to re-connect with your inner peace.

  • Of course, one thing we have all been advised to do is to turn off the news.   It’s true now more than ever.  If the content is negative turn it off.  It has been shown that watching violent news content literally is trauma inducing.  Best avoided.
  • According to research conducted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill One smart strategy is to avoid scrolling aimlessly on your cell phone.  We already know its depressing, now the research substantiates it.
  • This is a perfect time to find a craft, become a maker…of something, useful.  Here the only criterion is that you enjoy it.  Find something you can lose yourself in and cheekiness aside, makes the world a better place.
  • Learn to meditate.  Research has verified the ancient practice of stilling the mind.  There are apps you can start with, classes and lots of content on line.  Developing a  mindful practice to transcend limited thinking and toxic thoughts is a powerful and healthy way to deflate stress.
  • If you are feeling lonely and blue instead of waiting for contact – create it.  Scroll through your phone book and reconnect with past acquaintances.  If you’re healthy enough find a place where you can volunteer your services.  Teach an online class.  There are Zoom conferences of all kinds going in, sign up for classes and participate.
  • Last but not least exercise.  A gentle walk outdoor is healing and balancing to your wellbeing.

If you use any of these strategies, please comment below.  I’d love to know what is working for you!  Interested in a personal wellness session contact me here.

Schuessler Biochemic Cell Salts

Schuessler Cell Salts

Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler (1821-1898) was born in the town of Zwischenahn in Oldenburg, Germany. He Wilhelm Heinrich Schüßler portrait.jpgstudied medicine at the Berlin, Paris, Giessen and Prague University obtaining his M.D. His goal was to become a homeopathic physician.  He practiced at Oldenburg.

In 1873 he published in the General Homeopathic Journal his new healing system “An Abridged Homeopathic Therapy” and later his first book “An Abridged Therapy based on Physiology and Cellular Pathology” was published in 1874.

Two leaders in the world of science had shown him the path for exploration. They are:

  1. Rodulf Virchow was the founder of Cellular Pathology, which teaches that all diseases are based upon a change in function or condition of cells in the body. The possibility of stimulating these cells forms the starting point of Schuessler’s doctrine.
  2. The second to influence Schuessler was professor Moleschott who pointed out “the structure and vitality of the organs depended upon the presence of the inorganic constituents”.

To the above two theses Dr. Schuessler added his doctrine: “Restoration of the cell, and thereby of the body, will result from restoration of the deficit of the inorganic salts.”

Schuessler called his system of treatment Biochemic therapy. As the cell salts are vitally important to the chemistry of life.

There are 12 tissue salts each having a specific function and are used homeopathically. They maintain, rebuild and detoxify the cells and are important in their daily function.
