How Scientific is Modern Medicine?

Following is a link to an article worth your time and reflection.  I think it really puts things into objective perspective:  https://danaullman.substack.com/p/how-scientific-is-modern-medicine

Many of us have stories that are personal or stories  shared with us  of the benefits of conventional western medicine.  However not every story elicits cheers.  There is also a shadow side.

Ideally it is best to nurture your well being, with the obvious: good food, exercise, sound habits, etc.  But in our fiercely market driven society, tv and radio commercials heavily influence what many choose to eat.  The same with health care choices.   Choose wisely.

Self Care: Discover Arnica

Have you discovered Arnica?  Arnica is a magical plant, well they all are. Plants are transformers;  to our eyes, they don’t move and yet working with water and sunlight all types of sophisticated elements are produced within plants which help man,  animal, birds and other creatures.

Even a plant growing in a ditch or a plant called a weed is useful, if you know its purpose.  Man has used plants since ancient times for health and well being.

And it is  easy to benefit  using Arnica, if Arnica is indicated.   We are speaking of Arnica potentized as a homeopathic remedy.  A bit of the remedy “picture” is noted below. Arnica is considered to be very useful for healing trauma related injuries.  It is not advisable to ingest the plant itself.
Following are a few indications when homeopathic arnica may prove helpful:

– sore, bruised pain
–  shock after an injury (especially when you deny the need for help that is obvious to everyone around you)
– after a severe accident
– black and blue bruising
– after accident or injury (past or present)
– overwork, over exercise
– feeling fearful after an injury
– trauma from an operation or dental procedure (helps to promote healing)
– after childbirth
– concussion

There is more to the remedy arnica than is listed here.  If you are in an emergency, consider arnica it can be a huge help.  Keep on hand in your first aid kit.

I would recommend 30c,  2-3 pellets only repeat after 15-20 minutes if needed.  Avoid eating or drinking 15 minutes before or after taking the remedy  and avoid  potencies over 200c unless working with a professional.

To your health!

Is Sugar Your Friend?

As we all know, sugar is everywhere.  The power of  sweetness is legendary.  Your loved one calls to you, hey sugar, and you smile as you sway your way towards him or her .

What we do for it!  Yes.  As  a young child, oh  I can take you back to the days when penny candy existed.  It was a highlight of the day or of the weekend, going to the store to purchase as much candy as you could.  We have sweet memories.  Yet, such a practice morphed into diabetes for some or what is known as metabolic syndrome, or swollen abdomens or even a sense of futility of feeling you will not have the sweetness you feel as though you need in your life.

I recall a co-worker, years ago now, who thin as a rail, maintained a desk full of candy (literally).  The hard stuff.  We never saw her eat food.  Only candy.  And we know why that was don’t we?  Sugar is terribly addictive.  Its seeming satisfaction is fleeting.  And before you know it, if you are unaware you will be  back at it.

Sugar sets up terrible fights and fits between parents (who are seeking to parent) and children who may throw tantrums behind  their desire for the sweet white crystals.

Cravings are not our friends, despite advertisements suggesting we need them.  Bodily cravings are truly a call for change.

What’s your relationship with sugar?
Would you say you are in control or do you feel a constant need for more?  Take a bit of time to reflect on your relationship with the sweet stuff.  It can be helpful.

Peace.

Balloon Releases, Should You?

It is not uncommon for families and friends to host a balloon release to honor a loved one.  The intention is honorable, however it comes with a downside.  In our increasingly small planet we see how our actions affect the world around us.  And there are no “safe” balloons for release.  They can take over thirty years to degrade.  It is no surprise that microplastics are showing up in our blood also.

Pennsylvania, Maryland, Laguana Beach, Hawaii are states that are part of the ongoing plan to fine or otherwise ban this practice.

The Downside

What comes up, must come down.  Balloons harm marine life and pose a threat to many animals.  Animal rights and well being mentors of all stripes support changing to law to favor animals in this regard.  Entanglement can happen,  the balloons can even be mistaken for food and of course they become litter (trash).

Zoos favor legislation to protect wildlife and wild places, and animal protection groups.

Balloon Alternatives

The upside is there are numerous activities where we can honor loved ones while safeguarding the world around us.

  • Gather together and plant a tree in honorarium.  Trees are ah-mazing and can live 50 or more years, blessing us with clean air and refuge for other living beings.
  • There are numerous artistic approaches that groups can partake in:  fly kits, paint rocks, create a group collage.
    Or go for a walk.

Be the one in your family or group to suggest an alternative to balloon releases.  The balloons and the strings are hazards, entrapping animals leading to their deaths.  Plastic pollution harms all of our water supplies and balloon releases are part of the problem.
