Homeopathic Remedies are Non Addictive

When it comes to those seeking to improve their health and well being.  It is important to know that homeopathic remedies from a homeopathic pharmacy and used with the guidance of a  qualified practitioner can help one in the restoration of health and well being.

Constantly seeking quick fixes, social media “cures” ,”buzzes” of all kinds. whether uppers or downers will not cultivate health.
The terms natural or organic or that something is from a plant are not informative enough to discern if a substance is healing and if it is what is needed.

It seems to me, that as a society we have been subtly trained to put most anything in our mouths without proper oversight.  Marketers want to sell a product and sadly certain drugs have been found harmful after a number of deaths.

It is important to discern mindfully when you enter the marketplace;  teenagers with growing brains can be particularly susceptible, children too and even adults need to aware of what is being put into their bodies.  When we see people dying from various addictions, fatal car crashes from the use of certain substances and beverages  it teaches us to pause beforehand.

Some years ago (shows my age group) there were tv commercials stating that  the mind is a terrible thing to waste.  This is still true.

Typically, usually a plant, used for centuries by a culture in a whole form, becomes “discovered” by someone seeking a way to make money (ethics be damned).  It becomes addictive after it is transformed in a laboratory to extract certain chemical compounds which can affect certain receptors in the brain, causing it to become an addictive substance.

relaxing tranquil scene with balanced rocks

How to find wellness in a world gone off kilter.  How do you stay connected to yourself,  your source and stay well?  While we may feel stranded or lonely during these times, we can find our way back to optimism.  Finding and holding onto the calm within is key to maintaining wellness.  The ability to remain peaceful is a saving grace.  It helps our brain, our immune system, our heart and the ability to enjoy a restful sleep. Following are a few strategies for helping you to re-connect with your inner peace.

  • Of course, one thing we have all been advised to do is to turn off the news.   It’s true now more than ever.  If the content is negative turn it off.  It has been shown that watching violent news content literally is trauma inducing.  Best avoided.
  • According to research conducted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill One smart strategy is to avoid scrolling aimlessly on your cell phone.  We already know its depressing, now the research substantiates it.
  • This is a perfect time to find a craft, become a maker…of something, useful.  Here the only criterion is that you enjoy it.  Find something you can lose yourself in and cheekiness aside, makes the world a better place.
  • Learn to meditate.  Research has verified the ancient practice of stilling the mind.  There are apps you can start with, classes and lots of content on line.  Developing a  mindful practice to transcend limited thinking and toxic thoughts is a powerful and healthy way to deflate stress.
  • If you are feeling lonely and blue instead of waiting for contact – create it.  Scroll through your phone book and reconnect with past acquaintances.  If you’re healthy enough find a place where you can volunteer your services.  Teach an online class.  There are Zoom conferences of all kinds going in, sign up for classes and participate.
  • Last but not least exercise.  A gentle walk outdoor is healing and balancing to your wellbeing.

If you use any of these strategies, please comment below.  I’d love to know what is working for you!  Interested in a personal wellness session contact me here.

You Are a Miracle – The Odds of Human Birth

 The Preciousness of Human Life

  • As a human being, we have the greatest potential of all creatures on earth to realize the Dharma and
  • to realize the true nature  of reality and
  • to experience an ineffable, unconditional peace
  • and to discover a way of living that is in harmony with the profound truths of life

According to the Buddha, our human birth is very rare.  There is a classic story about this rarity in the Pali Canon, the ancient text recording the teachings of the Buddha.

The Buddha was speaking to a group of monks.  He said, “Monks, suppose that this great earth were totally covered with water and a man were to toss a yoke with a single hole into the water.  A wind from the West would push it East, a wind from the East would push it West, a wind from the North would push it South; a wind from the South would push it North.  And suppose a blind sea turtle were there.  It would come to the surface only once every 100 years.  Now what do you suppose the chances would be that a blind turtle, coming once to the surface every 100 years, would stick his neck into the yoke with a single hole?”

And the monks answered, “It would be very unusual, Sir, that a blind turtle coming to the surface once every hundred years would stick his neck into the yoke.”

And the Buddha replied, “And just so, it is very, very rare that one attains the human state (birth).”
